OCTOBER, 2017 NEWSLETTER

Dear Saints,

Recently, in the village of Aguacatenango, a little boy became sick. His body swelled up and he was in a lot of pain. His parents took him to the witch doctors and the regular doctors but no one could help him. Our brothers heard about it and went to their home. They preached the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and explained to them that they needed to believe on Jesus and repent of their sins. Both parents surrendered to God and He then healed their child. Praise Him! They are now members of His church.

We built a new church building in Jol Cantela and even the unbelievers showed up to help with the construction. When we held the dedication service, nine of those men came to Jesus! Nothing is impossible for our God!

Two new churches have been started in the villages of El Mango and Kan Xanil (pronounced: con sha neel). We are rejoicing with the angels in heaven! In the village of Kan Xanil, twelve people repented of their sins in one of the first services there!

Seismologists have recorded thousands of aftershocks in Mexico since the initial 8.2-magnitude quake that shook the Chiapas/Oaxaca region on September 7. Several of them, like the two on Saturday, the 23rd, have been incredibly powerful , measuring between 6.1 – 7.1. Our son-in-law, Erwin Guzman, is from Ixtaltepec, Oaxaca, and his home town has suffered tremendous damage. 80% of residences were rendered uninhabitable. His mother lost one of her childhood friends when a wall collapsed on her. The army has pulled everyone out of the town because of the aftershocks that continue to be felt. Please pray for Erwin’s mom. Her name is Alicia. Is this the “beginning of sorrows” that Jesus told us would come? It’s time to draw closer to God.
