MAY/JUNE, 2017 NEWSLETTER

Dear Saints,

We just held a two day campaign in the village of La Pimienta. It’s one of our jungle works and is located about four hours from the house. God really blessed and there was great joy in His presence. Two of our worship teams from the Highlands helped out and did a great job. The brothers and sisters from La Pimienta worked super hard and basically didn’t sleep for two days. They killed a lot of chickens and made a ton of tortillas to feed all of us. When it was all said and done, twenty people had surrendered to Jesus and asked Him to forgive their sins. Many wept as they repented before the Lord. That’s always a good sign. I have included some pictures on the back of this newsletter.

From time to time I am asked about the persecution – if it is still as bad as it was in the beginning of our work in Chiapas. It has calmed down some, but any time we start a new church or someone is saved, it rears it’s ugly head and tests the new believers. A recent example is in the work of Amatenango del Valle. A young girl came to know the Lord and then her mother decided to follow Jesus, also. Both of them are named Petrona Gomez. Jesus told us that He didn’t come to bring peace but, rather, a sword. He came to set a man against his son and a mother against her daughter, etc. He said that a man’s enemies would be those of his household. Well, shortly after getting saved, Petrona’s sons turned against her and not only beat her, but also kicked her out of her own home (her husband is deceased). Can you believe it? Who could do such a thing? Those whose mind is darkened and belong to Satan. Because of what happened, the brothers of that church raised up an offering and built her a new home! God is pleased, amen? Needless to say, she is encouraged and happy to be a part of the family of God.

We appreciate your prayers and financial support of this ministry. I know that God will bless you for it.
